I've not deer hunted with one here yet, I'm still waiting to get my crimp die shortened. The old 35 Remington is a veteran of the north woods and it's bagged everything from coyotes to moose and bear. Out to 150+ yards it'll get the job done on deer just fine.

I've taken a few deer with my G2 Contender 14" 35 Rem. pistol. All shots were under 40 yards and none of them ran more than 50 yards. Most dropped where they stood.

I have a Remington XP100 chambered in the .35 Remington. I killed a deer at 130 yds according to the range finder. I almost blew it because there wasn't near the bullet drop I expected from a 14 inch barrel so I hit it a tad high. It made it to the ditch at the edge of the field and it was over. The ballistics are much like that of the 30/30 with a slight edge given to the 30/30.

I got a Contender 14" pistol a few years ago with some ammo included. I double-checked the scope and took it hunting that season.
I dropped a good size doe in her tracks at about 70 yards. I was shocked at the accuracy and the round sure did the trick upon impact. At the shot her back legs folded under and she dropped on her rear end still standing on her front legs. Then she froze there for about 5 seconds then rolled over on her side. It does not get any better than that.
