Need some help..share your thoughts.
Im hunting a spot thats only been hunted three times this season for the muzzy opener. Its got some great spots to hunt but ive narrowed it down to 2. I scouted this property last weekend and found what looks to be buck heaven. Its down in what i call a bowl because thats exactly what it looks like..its high on all side and flat at the bottom. Trails beat down into the mud going down and out the other side. The flat portion is only maybe 40yrds wide by 60yrds long, surrounded by heavy thorn thickets. I counted 10 fresh rubs and 3 fresh scrapes. I though about going in to and sprucing that area up this evening with some doe estrus and buck urin. I know the rain is coming but hopefully the smeel would stick to the area.
Now my problem is do i sit that and hope an post rut/second buck slips through? Or do i hunt a perfect funnel on top of a ridge. The ridge funnels a major bedding area into a cut and plowed corn field. I know they fed on what corn is left because i seen three the other day when i drove the property. Ive got my freezer filled with a couple does. Im trying to fill my buck tag! Been passing a lot of smaller and some decent bucks all year. Give me your thoughts help me decide which way to hunt this.

Hunt the ridge the wind will most likely be better and the bucks will either be on the food or after the does so either way my vote is the ridge. I think the "bowl" area will have tough wind due to its configuration and I would probably just stay out and hunt the funnel on top.

And leave the doe estrus at the house, don't do anything to alert them you are there.

Thanks guys for the input..i will add this, this piece of ground has a path cut through it for the farmers golf cart. When i pulled in this last sunday i jumped a doe and a shooter buck that were headed right into the "bowl"

Hunt the funnel..they'll be hitting the corn in evenings...stay out in morning ..save it for evening hunt unless you can hunt right up against the thick cover in morning without alerting deer getting into stand, if not hunt evenings only..make sure wind is right
