Got a nice one Sunday night in Michigan City. Smoked him with a Remington 700ml (non smoker) custom PacNor barrel, shooting VV n120 smokeless powder and a Barnes 195bx at over 3k fps. Dropped in his tracks at 135yds. Nice 10 pt rack, absolute gigantic neck, 170lb, not a lick of fat on him, and tarsal glands that were clean and scent free. Maybe all rutted out? Anyone else seeing the same thing? Still seeing bucks cruising a little. Thanks, Jay

Anyone care to offer a guess at rough score? Just under 20" wide, g2's 9", g3's 10", brows 8" amd 6", very heavy throughout but did not measure beams or circumfrences. Thanks. Jay

awesome buck, congrats
3k fps, thats HUMMIN. Whats your drop from 100 to 200 and 300 yards ?
and do you like that barnes bullet ?
I've been shooting the copper solids, basically a barnes expander, out of my shotgun for 5 years and LOVE them and the damage they do
Thanks

The load is almost unbelievable! 100yd +2", 200yd +3", 300yd -4", 350yd -9". Yes it's still rising at 200yd, but starts to lose steam quickly due to low bc bullet. The barnes bullets are second to none. Over on Dougs Message Boards for smokeless muzzleloading, out of all the guys shooting the 195bx, I bet there has only been a handful of recovered bullets between everybody that posts. Usuaully it takes a straight on shot that breaks a shoulder and hits a rear leg to stop one, if that. Some guys use the 40 cal. 200gr SST, but they usually disentigrate at high speed, and although kill the deer, do not give a pass though with two holes that help with a blood trail if needed. So yes, the 195bx are the cats meow!
