Buddy Jim and I went after them this AM, first day afield for the 350JR wildcat. I first saw this buck first about 8:20AM and had to pass it up with him running two sets of four does within 110 yards because "they went on the wrong side of my ground stand" (go figure. LOL) and I would have had to shoot directly at a State Road 250 yards South of me. Later, after hopping a fence still following the does he was facing me almost straight but was about to head South towards the HW and out of my safe zone so I took him. Bullet hit in front of the right shoulder and ended up under the skin on the left ham. I was using my "short range" rounds with 180 grain Speers since A...less costly and B...longest shot there is about 150 yards. After a 12 hour shift before hitting the field I only stayed another hour. Jim faired better with a near twin 8 point and two does. Ranges were not long, 75-150 yards. Four shots, two "bang flops" and a 25 yard and 50 yard "blood trail", all before 930 AM. So Far So Good! Look OUT does.........HERE I COME! God Bless Steve Attachments:

OUTSTANDING!! Glad your new rifle/cartridge worked out fine for you. Bet you had the biggest gun in the woods too.
