I decided to shoot my ML this evening just cuz it's fun and I haven't yet this season. Had a target at 200 yds. which is it's zero. Shot. Missed the entire target!! Scratched my head & decided to shoot the 100 yd target. Again, completely missed!!! Checked the gun/scope for anything loose. Nope. Well shot @ 25yds. Center vertically high 20"! Then remember having my son on back porch with me ranging a nice 12 ptr at 425 yds or so. I had moved the turrets to 425(2.5 rotations) but evidentally only moved it back 1/2 rotation. So I turned it back 2 full rotations and boom! Dead on @ 200 yds. So very glad I shot it tonite and not during season when I had a deer in my sights. What would u guys recommend using to mark the level where the turrets are at their zero? White finger nail polish? A very thin file to scratch the elevation and windage posts under the turrets? I really do wanna do the latter of the 2, but not sure if the nail polish will interfere with turrets mobility. I just don't wanna have this occur again. Ideas greatly appreciated!

Might think about silver sharpie instead of the paint. That is what I use to write on anything dark. Not as permanent as the scratch from a file, but has stayed on everything I have ever put it on.

Mark elevation zero? Nightforce Zero Stop works well. I'd go with the silver Sharpie. I'd want something permanent, but not too permanent so I could change it if something changed with the load, or if I switched the scope to a different gun.
