My father & I are both considering getting crossbows. We were both leaning towards the Barnett Ghost 350, but last night a guy at Gander Mountain was turning me on to the Wicked Ridge line. After checking them out online, I think the premium package on the Invader would be my choice. Can anyone give opinions on these 2 crossbows? Pros & cons......
Thanks

The ghost is much faster and louder. Barnetts customer service, in my opinion, sucks.
Wicked Ridge, by Ten Point, is slower and quieter. Should last several seasons, and if an issue was to arise, customer service is second to no one.

I have had an Invader for going on 3 years now and have not had a single issue. I don't know much about Barnetts so I can't advise, but I feel the WR line by Tenpoint is top notch for the money. My Invader will shoot a 20" Goldtip Laser II with 100 grain Spitfires 310 fps. It will shoot 2 inch groups out to 40 yards if I do my part. The only thing I didn't like on my Invader was the 3 dot scope and the quiver that came with it. The scope worked fine, but my eyes are not what they used to be and I was seeing double dots while wearing my glasses. I put a Hawke scope on it and a Quickie Quiver on it and now am very happy. I believe now you can choose either a 3 dot or multi reticle scope now with the Invader package

I have a Jackal and am very happy with the xbow. The two times Ive dealt with Barnett customer service they were quick to reply and fast repair. I had a scope issue and had a new scope in 3 days. The rail wasnt centered and they sent me a prepaid label and had my xbow back in a week. Last Friday afternoon I sent them an email asking about how to time the cams if I change the string. 1 1/2 hours later while sitting in my deer stand my phone vibrates and Barnett was calling me about the email. Pretty good service in my opinion.
I suggest you take a good look at both xbows and then make up your mind. Either one will do the job. Good luck, h.h.

I have a Barnett Revolution. I've had it for 5+ years now without any problems.
I strongly suggest going to a shop that has them, and shoot them both side-by-side, paying attention to the noise and the trigger. That should help you narrow down which one to buy.
I'm happy with the accuracy, and reliability of the Revolution, not happy with the noise and trigger. I even filled the stock with expanding foam to try and quiet it down. It helped, but not a lot.

Took a week to talk to someone, been waiting 8 days now and counting for a three dollar part to arrive in the mail. Wishin I would have gone with the wicked ridge brand now

Got a Barnett Quad 400 crossbow package from Dunham's Sports when they went on sale before the start of the season this year. IIRC, it was $389 + tax for the crossbow which included 4 bolts, removable quiver, a 4x32 scope, and the crank cocking device (which costs $99 if you buy it separately).
Specs: Speed: 345 fps Draw Weight: 150 lb Energy: 112 ft-lbs Power Stroke: 15.5" Length: 37" Width: 26.75" Weight: 9 lbs Arrow Length: 22"
A couple of observations: This thing is pretty heavy, but that's not an issue if you are going to be stand-hunting. The crank cocking device is slow and has an audible "click" with the anti-rollback "safety" engaged. You can cock it with that turned off to keep it quiet, but you had better not let go of the handle before it is fully cocked.
The major issue I found with this device is what to do with it once you've cocked the crossbow. You basically have this 3" wide, somewhat bulky metal framework that hangs off of two strings that go back into the crank mechanism that can't be disassembled or removed. The metal framework grabs the string (to cock it), but you need to remove it from the firing area of the bow once you've cocked the bow and do something with it before you can shoot the crossbow. I found that if you pull it back out and then put it over the scope and let it engage on one of the ribs of the scope rail between you and the scope, you can tighten the cocking mechanism to take up the loose slack in the attached rings and to pull the metal framework tight so it doesn't clang around while handling the bow. I think it would have been better if the manufacturer would have made it so you could have detatched the metal framework from the cocking device strings easily in the field.
Despite this, the Quad 400 is still a solid crossbow and it is accurate. I set it up in my LeadSled to sight it in and I was getting some pretty impressive groups at 30 yards. I'm sure there are better crossbows out there, but I think the price we got this one for was hard to beat.
NOTE: With scope attached, this crossbow will not fit inside the Flambeau hard case. (Attached scope makes the crossbow too tall to close the case without it putting significant pressure on the scope).
