My wife and I travelled to South Bend Indiana last week to visit my daughter. We left here last Thursday evening and travelled to Charlestown IN across the river from Louisville and stayed the night with my brother. Got up in the morning and ate breakfast with my landowner buddy. Took off and got to South Bend late afternoon. Travelled on 31 from Indy to South Bend. Beautiful country with field after field of beans and corn. Sad that the corn was mostly stunted and brown. Strange that some fields would be stunted and brown and field right next to it green and taller.
We toured Notre Dame University. What a fantastic university. Very faith based. My SIL is in law school there. Daughter is a FT RN and also goes to U of I and will graduate in December as a Family Nurse Practicioner.
Going home we stopped in Kokomo at a Harley Dealer and bought a couple of T shirts. Picture of a daisy duke's girl washing a tractor, corn, barn with a Harley in front of it.
From Indy we travelled I74 to Cincinnati and then I75 to Knoxville and I40 to Asheville where I've been all week for training for work. 600 miles that day. Going up was 700 from the house to South Bend.
The entire state looked great for deer hunting! From Kokomo to South Bend looked good as lots of fields and limited woods should be easy to pattern deer when the crops are in. South eastern IN had lots of woods and I understand the highest deer density.
Anyways, the wife and I loved our trip through Indiana. Looking forward to my annual trip to the southern part that I do each year coming up.
You all have a fantastic place to hunt!!!!!!!!!!! and I love it there.
My daughter said she started to buy me a T shirt that said
"Hoosier Daddy" but was afraid I wouldn't wear it. LOLLLL I'd love it.
