Just got a .358 wssm barrel for the encore and a set of dies. I got 50 bullets that the guy reloaded. He only gave me the load data for the 225 grain bullet that i bought and one type of powder. I'm using brass from a 243 wssm necked up to .358 and cut to 1.625". Does anyone have more load data for this wildcat? Different powders, bullets etc.??

Start out with 45.0 grains H4895 with a 200 grain bullet and work up. I currently load for 3 rifles and use the Hornady 200 grain FTX and 200 Barnes TTSX. Two rifles shoot half inch or a little less and the other is inside an inch at 100 yards. I use the .25 WSSM brass, but same thing, just neck up and square up the mouth.

Benchmark worked well for me with 200 grain FTX. Same as omegahunter said, start at 45 grains and work up.

Be carefull with max loading on your Encore. Too heavy a load and you will "spring" the action after 30 or 40 rounds. I have seen this happen on two Encores!

Hummm? ? I don't see how you can overload the 460. All the loads I shoot are compressed already. Not possible to put in more powder unless your loading small grain not recommended powders? Encores with stand some really big calibers. Not real sure what "spring" means either

Only thing I can think that he means is stretching the frame.

I have shot a few hundred full house loads of 358 out of my encore without problems .... im sure it can happen but with limited case capacity the 358 would not be easy to greatly over-charge.

Depends on the powder you use in both the 460 and 358. Fast powders increase pressure real, real fast even in small increments. h.h.

I'd say under normal reloading practices, the Encore frame with with stand any recommended loads in the 358 or 460. I'm sure if someone purposely tries to make a pipe bomb, that they could do it.

I guess I should have said with the powders normally used with that particular round ..... Like Timex said, if a guy just started playing around with powders without knowing what the heck they were doing or if a guy wanted to intentionally blow one up or they could.

You see it all the time on the net, guys who mistaking load the wrong powder end up with real bad results.
I agree, under most circumstances this would be hard to do.......but it does happen. h.h.
