why do the swimmers "taste" the water before a meet, match or whatever they call it? some of em spit it out some of em dont.
this is the first Olympics Ive actually enjoyed watching all events of. But its annoying I have to watch whatever is on. Id much rather watch shot put than tennis or judo than bike racing. They should have more diversity on.
womens track has the best looking women of legal age to comment on. ;D
boxing is boring, olympic or other wise
Im surprised more dont defect.
Gabby and the whole team are dolls and I hope they all find the life of celebrity their parents are hoping for.

Former competitive swimmer here. 1. Ritual for platform starts as well as wall starts where it is not so obvious. 2. To prep the mind & body to the taste, feel, & temp of the water prior to the start so there are no suprises.

We wondered about the "splashing" too. We guessed that the water was cold.
I can't believe they didn't show more shooting and archery. I heard that archery was on right after the ceremonies but I haven't seen it or shooting since.
Plenty of bizarre sports like water polo, though. I mean, can more viewers really relate to water polo than shooting?

Their advertisers [$$$$$$$$$$] have a lot to say about what venues are targeted.

I've seen a couple of the short track bicycle races....if that's what you want to call them! Looks more like a couple of clowns trying to outdo each other!!! What a waste of time!!!!

It's just not the same without the ladies softball games. I quess since our ladies could not be beat, the other countries pushed for doing away with the event.
