Been scouring the net this AM looking for some details of KY bowhunting reg's.
Still looking at maybe going to LBL this fall.
Don't want to get down there and have to make any gear changes or run afoul of the laws.
It appears that statewide the carry laws are about the same as ours in that it's legal to carry concealed protection sidearm if I have the IN CCW, which I do.
The fed reg's for LBL would appear to say otherwise for that area. That's not a deal-breaker, as I often DON'T carry, but might if it's legal there.
More importantly, trying to find anything on legality of lighted pins and/or lighted nocks.
Anyone know if they're legal down there? I've read the entire reg booklet and searched the KY forum on Bowsite and several other places. No mention of them that I can find.
TIA for any help.

Hi Russ, I don't know of any regulation regarding your archery equipment down there on LBL property. So you should be fine using this equipment. Don't know LBL's regulation for carring sidearms though, but think your CCW should suffice any requirements. I haven't hunted LBL since the late 1970's.

Thanks guys. I suppose the LBL would be about as safe a place to go unarmed as I can think of...restricted access/getaway routes, rural, and probably pretty low on roaming packs of semi-feral dogs, or other non-human predators.
To be honest, I don't carry as often as I probably should even around here, so it won't cost me any sleep to be "naked" while hunting.
I'd feel better if I had the Ruger with me on the trip to the area and back, though.
I'll check on the definition of "possession" and see if having it locked and cased, empty, hidden in the truck would be good.
That would leave me the option of loading it and having it more readily available to me during the drive each way.
Starting to feel more vulnerable without it when driving around alone with my white whiskers and out-of-state plates showing.

Actually, LBL is no different than any other place. Thugs and mobile meth labs are found whereever some crackhead wants to start a new batch. Take your pistol, and leave it unloaded in the trunk or glovebox if you feel you need to. Won't take long to get it out if needed.
If you need something at camp, just gut shoot them with the bow. Good luck. Overall, the crime rate in Ky. is the same as in Indiana. If you went to a special military hunt in Ind., you won't be carrying either.
