I got back from my bear hunt in Quebec yesterday with Eric Gaudreault and www.bouleaublanc.com/. There were 5 hunters in camp, 3 were gun hunters and 2 were bowhunters. I was one of the bowhunters. The hunt was a 6 day hunt that started on Monday and ended on Saturday, the arrival and departure was Sunday to Sunday. I only saw two bears and I say I only saw two because the 2nd one I saw was a 200lber with a big white patch on the chest. We recovered it and I was done Tuesday night. The rest of the trip I hung out in camp and fished catching brook trout. I had intentions of going pike fishing but never made it. Thursday the 3 other adults tagged out on good bears as well and left only the 13 year old for Friday. On Friday the 13 year old got his bear.
Myself and another guy had the 2 biggest with 200lbers, 2 of the other bears were around 175lbs and another guy shot a 125lber. There were about 5 300+ pound bears seen but they never presented a shot. The week before us a 400lber was shot.
I cannot say enough about this outfitter he worked very hard to put us on bears and is very dedicated to seeing his hunters be successful. He also holds the record for black bears killed in Quebec with around 560. His prices are also very affordable and door to door the trip cost just under $2,800. That is including food, travel(gas), licenses (fishing and hunting), and extras. If I would have gone on the bare minimum I could get the trip to under $2,500.
I did run into camera troubles but I tried to post a picture and when I get a copy of my buddies pictures I will post some of those as well.
