What price range are you looking for? A Weaver 1-3x is a good inexpensive choice. I have a Leupold 2.5x Ultralight on my 1894 44Mag and I'm pleased with it.

Scope quality is directly related to cost. Buy the most expensive one you can afford. If you want cheap, go with a Tasco World Class or similar Simmons. If you want mid range go with a Burris Fullview or Leupold Rifleman. Vortex and Nikon offer similar value in both price ranges.

A Nikon 3x9x40- Pro Staff This, or the 2-7x32 version. I have a few of both. Nikon, Leupold, and Redfield are hard to beat for the money.

Be careful of Leupy's on e-bay. I don't know about now, but a few years ago there were a number of fakes for sale. Leupy even had something on their website about it.

The best value for money quality scope is without a doubt Leupold. We use them professionally i have just put a case forward for the job to buy me a leup 6.4 -20-50 target scope for my 308 and i nearly fell off my seat in the office this morning when the boss said yes and ordered it. Now how good is that? regards Billy

I highly recommend looking in Vortex's offerings. I have a crossfire II and it seems very well built, and their warranty is awesome (in the rare event you need it). They're not a real big name yet, but between their customer service, warranty, and product, I think everyone will start to see their name show up alot more. And for their price, I dont think they can beat.
