I was digging last night and I knew the gas line (LP) ran through there - I found it, uncovered it and carefully worked around it and moved on. 5 Min. later using I hear a hissss looked down and there's another gas line! Ran and turned it off at the tank; it seems there are 2, 1 of which is not in use which is the one I of course I protected. So anyways does anyone know where I can get a splice for the yellow gas lines?

All the splice is, is flare fittings and a double male as far as I know. If you have a flare tool and the ability to use it, chances are you can make the repair. Use Windex to test for leaks. Most hardware stores should have what you need, as long as you know what pipe size it is.

And the yellow coating is simply plastic that is not part of the connection. Strip it off like you would electrical insulation (I know you know how to do that!) and make the connection.

Nope; I was just digging a little trench for a water line to the garden, just going down enough so as not to hit it when mowing. I new about where it was - just didn't know there was an abandoned line through there as well or it wouldn't have happened. The way it runs it can be easily drained when done for the season so no worry there.
