Anybody else getting one?? These long months between seasons really drive me nuts. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can get out with my 35 Rem. Contender pistol and try out some test reloads. That will help for awhile ;D, but I don't know what to do the rest of the summer .

Groundhogs! That's how i like to occupy some of my empty spring and summer evenings...no permits needed and no bag limits! I bet a .35 Rem would do just fine...I know my .223 does

I've always used a .22 for ground hogs and I do have a .22 barrel for my Contender along with a .223 barrel and a 45 muzzle loading barrel. Only problem is,I don't know of any places where there are ground hogs anymore. The old railroad tracks where I hunted them as a kid are empty now because a neighbor has cleaned them out.I've been wanting to hunt them for years but don't know of any places . I may have to do some checking and see if there are any other places along the tracks where there are some, and see if I can get permission .

A well rounded sportsman ought to be concentrating on mushrooms, crappie and bluegill this time of year. Every bit as fun as hunting.

I don't know my mushrooms,I'd probably get poisonous ones.I do do some fishing once in awhile but not a lot,I've always been more into hunting.I guess I'm not very rounded, maybe a little square ;D.

Morels are easy to ID and they can be as elusive as that big buck.

I'll see if I can get a picture of them on the puter and might give it a shot. Thanks.

The fish are all screwed up this year. The Yellow Perch are just now dropping their eggs. I wouldn't be suprised if we had some warmer weather that the Bass would spawn too. I have a few males making beds in my pond now, but the cold weater will push them off the beds. Crappie should be spawning too.

I haven't been to the range to shoot in a couple of months.... I picked up another complete Contender last weekend and dropped another Contender barrel off to be rechambered tonight. After I dropped that off I got to thinking about all of the other projects that I have started and haven't gotten to yet................. One of these days. The problem with trying to get to the range right now is the only time I have to go is on the weekends and I now have my kids 3 weekends per month. At some point I'll start taking them along but I won't get much done with them there.......

Take up shooting Sporting Clays, trap or skeet. I shoot a round of Sporting Clays once a month (100 birds).
