I am going to Lake Guntersville in Alabama Today.

Took a 5 fish limit of 34.26 pounds to win the tournament here at my home lake today. (wasn't me)

I was amazed. Beautiful fish. The team's big fish was an 8 1/2 pounder so all 5 were huge.
2nd place had 25#, 3rd and 4th place were both in the 21# range, 5th took 20#, and last place money 6th took right at 18#.
All largemouth except for 4th place had a largemouth of 8.06# and 4 huge spots.
I had 8.47# of spots. Largemouth will really be on the bed this coming weekend and the one after.
Should be peaking out if weather cooperates. Big spots are still out in 20 foot of water.
Next lake over had a 67 pound striper caught this weekend also. New state record.

The 70,000 acre Lake Guntersville is great, I have heard of many amazing catches from the lake over the years.

I know last year a guy caught a 8 Pound Largemouth Bass, a 2.8 Pound Crappie, and a 6 Pound Smallmouth Bass in the same Day.

I read the article, he worked at Lake Guntersville state park.


And if you hit the right spot, you may catch 10 to 20 Bass over 3 pounds per day on the lake.



Lake Guntersville is a 70,000 acre lake, it's part of the Tennessee River Chain Lake System. The TN River system literally has over 500,000 acres worth of lakes. Each one of these lakes is connected with one another, they are only seperated by Dams. KY Lake is also a TN River Lake.

Northern Alabama literally has over 200,000 acres worth of public Lakes. And the entire state of Alabama has over 700,000 acres worth of Lakes. It's a fishing paradise down there.
