Yesterday afternoon 6 deer walked thru my property right behind the house. 2 still had both sides 1 had 1 side. All 3 were 1.5 yr olds. Ive only found 1 fresh one this year but 3 from last year. BUT I havent been as much as I normally would. Seems like lots of people still seeing bucks with racks.

I called my landowner friend the night of the tornados. He was/is ok. He told me of seeing 6 bucks together in his lane the week before. 2 big ones, 3 basket racks, and a very large spike. A lady here where I live almost ran one over in the road a couple of days ago and it still had both sides. Checking my traps 2 weeks ago and lo and behold a fresh scrape under a hanging branch. Wild, ![huh](https://www.ingunowners.com/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif) ?

I had a a 3 point almost get personal and comethru my windshield last friday. Couple days before that there were 2 down towards our hunting area still carrying their headgear.
Fresh scrapes? I thought the antlers were wierd.

It's been weird all right.. By this time last year i was about done looking only because I was satisfied with the 40+ antlers I found. I'm still too seeing bucks carrying both sides. I've found one set, 130 eight point and two other antlers that fell months ago already chewed bad. Also found a couple from last year.. I'm going in the morning anyway. The woods and pastures are going to green up big time if this 7 day forecast is true and that will make it very difficult to find them.

If a buck had abnormal testerone levels from a tumor for example, then I could see why there is a fresh scrape. It's been a pretty mild winter, so maybe the bucks won't start dropping til the new ones start? I've been out twice with my dog looking for sheds but no luck so far......but could be the fact that we have only gotten does on the game cam...and my dog isn't trained for sheds yet.

Ive seen rubs and scrapes every year after deer season that LOOKED fresh but I dont think they are. I think most of the time its ground condition and they're in a place that wasnt seen by me during the traditional scraping/rubbing times. I did get another buck still packing both sides on the 5th. Healthy bucks can carry their head gear up to just before the new ones start. Seeing antlers is now is perfectly normal.

Most of the bucks I have on cams the last week or two are half racked and a couple have dropped both sides.

Not all scrapes are breeding scrapes. Same as different types of rubs. I've seen unpressured deer hold antlers till late may before. And some drop in early Dec.

I think the deer have finally figured us hunter's out and have changed their rutting pattern's till after season end's. (State is gonna have to change hunting season date's to confuse them.) LOL

I remember reading some article that claimed deer will occasionally make scrapes all year long.

Well, it was definitely a deer scrape under a overhanging branch that I saw a month ago. There was even the hoof marks and dirt throwed back on top of the leaves. I found it peculiar.

I saw a beautiful ten pointer this morning cross the road. I watched him run with two does across a huge corn field. I kept my eyes on him till I couldn't see him any more and no antlers fell!!! Figured as hard as he was running I might get lucky and see one drop.
