Here on Kentucky Lake it was in the 40's and 50's pretty much every day this Winter for high Temperatures, of course there were a few exceptions. Last week it was 73 degrees, and for the past few days it's been in the 60's. It will be in the 60's for the rest of the week here on Kentucky Lake. This will warm the water temperatures, warmer than they normally are for this time of year. Here is the Forecast for my area of KY Lake. It will be near 70 again later this week. www.weather.com/weather/tenday/Murray+KY+42071

Do you think the Spawn might start a few weeks earlier this year in your area ?
I think it will down here, and in other southern states.

Bill do you monitor the water temp. any? Also watch the moon phases, seems to be one of the triggers of the spawns.

Um....If the Air Temperatures keep being this warm, it is obvious the Water temperatures will also be warm. Warmer than usual for this time of the year. I will be on Kentucky Lake this Wednesday, so I will let you know what the Water Temps are

Yep and next week you'll get snow like you did last week. LOL LOL LOL I did not get any snow last week here on Kentucky Lake. They got snow in Louisville, and east Kentucky, but not here. It has NOT snowed here on KY lake in over a month, we got some flurries 10 or 12 days ago, but it moved east, and was sunny by the next day. We have only got less than 1/2 an inch of snow this year on Kentucky Lake.

April 6th is the full moon that should get the bass to push on the beds IF the water temps agree and if it stays mild it should be good. 58 degress usually starts the ball rolling for the prespawn. Best thing is to go fishing, wear polarized glasses, stand on that trolling motor, cruise around the backs of the hollers and coves, and look. Spawn is like the rut and spread out some but the "peak" should be the 2nd to 3rd weekend of April around here. Usually around the 3rd or 4th week. This is for largemouth. Spots will start in April also but there will still be spots on the beds after the largemouth are finished. Spots come into the banks at different times it seems and stay longer especially the bucks. Can't really see spots on the bed but they spawn on those gravelly sloping banks in 4-15' of water. Drag a carolina rig through them with a french fry worm. If they are there, you will know it. If not, move on. Happy fishing to all. Any one in for some great Alabama Spot action? LOL
