Never said that.
No doubt archery kills have shrunk a bit and gun kills have increased a bit.
No doubt the OBR contributed to this.
My only point was we did not have a 6000 kill shift from archery to gun ... it was less than that.
Why is that? Im not entirely sure but I would guess increased success rate (more deer) and/or more hunters with all weapons.
No matter the circumstance or the numbers the only thing I can say for sure is there would have been more killed with TBR in place. Is that good or bad? Dont know and have never said .... just pointing out the obvious.

Just for clarification ... dad will use the xbow but he was already able to use one because of physical handicap. My wife ... she actually refuses to use one and insists on me buying her a vertical bow and using it. Same with the daughter. The way I worded the original post was confusing .... Regardless of whether your wife, dad or daughter uses a bow or xbow, it's nice to hear that more folks are gonna be out there. Again, that's why I supported 2.0. To let folks choose what they want to hunt with. I never understood the need to have people jump through medical hoops (or reach a certain age) to hunt with an xbow. To me the goal should be getting people out there to enjoy the great outdoors (hopefully for the entire deer season).

Yes, If around 6,000 hunters took 2 bucks per year. That would mean those hunters are taking 12,000 Bucks per year with a TBR. With a 1 Buck rule those same 6,000 hunters could only take 6,000 Bucks. In a 5 year period with a TBR those hunters could take 60,000 Bucks in IN. With a 1 Buck Rule, they could only take 30,000 Bucks in that same 5 year period. The TBR would lead to tens of thousands of extra Bucks being killed every 5 years across the state. Do you honestly think it is that simple?? Never mind.

Illinois is much larger than Indiana. Illinois has a much shorter Gun Season than Indiana. If Illinois had the same time to gun hunt as IN, with their TBR, Illinois would have no Bucks left, lol illinois for example has a two buck rule and their population isnt hurting a bit and that state is just on the other side of the wabash river from indiana. oh and the quality of deer i have personally seen on their side of the river far exceeds what i have seen in the hoosier state. so obviously the 2 buck rule doesnt work go figure.

6,000 Extra Bucks per year, really adds up after 5 or 6 years. Really a TBR would mean an extra 30,000 or 40,000 Bucks being killed every 5 or 6 years in IN. That would NOT be good IMO. If around 6,000 hunters took 2 bucks per year. That would mean those hunters are taking 12,000 Bucks per year with a TBR. With a 1 Buck rule those same 6,000 hunters could only take 6,000 Bucks. For the sake of non-argument, basically it equals an extra 6k (6,000) additional bucks per year for the most part. According to figures, I think that amounts to 10% increase in bucks taken per year, at most. FYI, deer reproduce!

I doubt you really have to worry about Bill shooting very many bucks!

I'll be honest...part of what I loved about bow hunting was less people out there haha! I get what you're saying though.

Crossbows were due to be legal for everyone, just cuz I don't like the idea doesn't mean it isn't fair. It won't take long for all the people hitting the woods with x-bows to see you can't shoot them 70-120 yards with ease like they think (some think I should say).

It would appear most that think, or at least spew it all over, are the ones who are opposed to their inclusion - or even existence.
