I killed this squirrel just a few minutes ago. I was carrying him up to the house and my wife says "look, it has a nut in it's mouth". I hadn't even noticed it when I grabbed him. I am surprised that the nut stayed in it's mouth because he fell about 50 feet out of a tree top. I thought it was a neat pic and figured I would share with all of you.

Nice photos, Harley!! Thanks for sharing. I also have shot several Squirrels with walnuts grasped in their mouths. One Squirrel was cutting one and I didn't have a very good rifle aim or hold, and I shot the walnut out of his mouth. The shock of the bullet got him though.

I think Dad or I killed one many years ago like that. Only it was a hickory, IIRC, and you couldn't tell it was there at first.

Lock jaw! LOL! I shot one with a hickory nut in its mouth and actually hit the hickory nut.That nut exploding in his mouth was awsome!Dropped him dead!

I got one years ago that still had a hickory nut in his mouth. Sometimes you feel like a nut....
