This is something that I am very seriously considering. Does any one brew and if so, suggestions?

A suggestion, Go buy a Mr. Beer kit and read, read, read, home brewing on your own is fun and tastey the Mr. Beer kits will get you on ground level with the concept. It isnt hard but there is alot of easy mistakes that can ruin a batch, since it takes a while to make you dont want to make those mistakes. when you are done and feel comfortable with your canned batch from their company you have both beer and a fermenting tank for the next round... Good luck, pay close attention to articles relating to raising the alcohol content honey and brown sugar make a tasty nectar. With a bit of a kick!

There's really no reason why I shouldn't be...we've been doing our own wine for a few years (still working on the fine points of that ). A couple of years ago I happened into an offer on eBay for almost a pickup load of wine/beer making equipment that I ended up getting. Had to make a trip to St Louis to pick it up but a visit to my sister down there was overdue anyway. About half of the stuff was beer making equipment that we still have but haven't tried to make any yet. We've been talking about it though...especially after we get this next batch of wine bottled up sometime in the next month and we have some working room again.

I don't do beer but I do a lot of wine and mead. Its fun and very satisfying when you produce a good product.
For what it's worth... I have friends who do beer and they have nothing good to say about Mr. Beer kits. It's technically beer. But barely. It's sort of like if you fermented kool-aid and called it wine.
I suggest checking out some of the online forms on the topic. They have lots of experienced people and will help you get started right. I suggest Brews-Bros.com. Many of the major retailers have forums too. Northern Brewer is where I get the majority of my supplies.
