Anyone have any personal experience with this stand? I'm looking at getting a new climbing stand for next year. I currently have an Ol' Man and I love it, but have been checking out the Lone Wolf lately. I know a lot of people use Summit stands as well, but haven't really looked into them a lot.

I would look into the Summits, I own the Viper and I love it. I am 6'1" and 245 and can sit all day long in it. And with the money you save you can get a set of stabilizing straps from thirdhandarchery and a good harness with money to spare.

The money is not an issue, only because I can get the Lone Wolf stand at just a little over cost. If I had to pay retail, I probably wouldn't even be looking at the Lone Wolf.

I have used the Lone wolf climber a couple times. I will never use it again. It is nice and compact, but that is all that is nice for a guy my size. I am 6'2, 250, so it makes it a bit tough for me climbing up. You pretty much have to be able to do pull ups and knee raises to get up a tree. I like to get up as high as I can too. I think I went up 10 feet last time and said screw it, good enough. Obviously I am out shape, so this really hurt my review of it.
I will stick with my Summit Goliath. It is light weight an can hold up to 350 pounds. That gives me room to grow another 100 pounds. Haha. I am sure my wife would appreciate that.

I have four summit climbers one lone wolf sit and climb and a lone wolk lock on with climbing sticks. love my lone wolf stuff for archery and the lock on even in gun season in trees with a lot of limbs. mainly use nothing but summit in gun seasons. They are cadillac comfort with the new seats!

I am the size of the above two guys. I have a viper, ol man and Lone Wolfe sit and climb. I spend as much time in a stand as 99% of other deer hunters. Here are my thoughts: Viper is the most comfortable for an all day sit but it isnt very quiet and I don’t feel as secure in it. I have had it lock up and the bottom fall down.
Lone wolf is hands down the most secure and quietest. If your butt is as big as mine, the standard climber will be tight to sit very long in. The rail to sit on doesn’t make a very good shooting rail. It is my go to short archery hunt stand.
For an all day gun sit I use the olman top with gun rail and the lone wolf bottom. If I had the opportunity to buy a Lone Wolf at cost I would take it but might go with the wider model.
Ps I do notice the olman takes a toll on a trees bark over time

I will definitely go with the wide sit and climb. I have also noticed the ol man stand does leave its mark in trees. Thanks for the information guys. I have read that a lot of guys buy the lone wolf climber and then add the summit seat to it, because they say the lone wolf seat isn't the most comfortable thing to sit in all day.

I've been using tree stands for 35 years. I've tried lots of different hang-ons, ladder stands, and some older climbers. I bought a Summit Viper and have been using it for 2 seasons. It's absolutely the most comfortable stand I've ever used. I feel secure in it, it doesn't rock, it's silent, and has a shooting rail which I love. Highly recommended. My only complaint might be it's a tad heavy (which seems to get worse every year - I wonder why), but the comfort I get out of the stand more than makes up for a little extra work carrying it in.
