Lifetime licenses are back? Carry a handgun without a license?

Lifetime licenses are back? Carry a handgun without a license? Where do you see an option to buy a lifetime? I believe the handgun laws changed in 2011 and these proposed changes are being made to fall in line with those changes.

Lifetime licenses are back? Carry a handgun without a license? It doesn't say anything about lifetime licenses coming back, just a bundle of three tags. The handgun bit is for hunting only, transporting it to and from the hunting field would be covered under different state legislature not overseen by DNR.

So am I reading this correctly...electronic checking of Deer/Turkey WILL be in place for 2012 or they are simply proposing this and the other changes outlined?
My initial thought on the bundled license is it is a good thing as I would most likely purchase at least $72 worth of tags.

Hope they do implement the telecheck. Great thing in other states and I believe more checked in. No excuse for not checking in a deer. How many times have I went to a checking station up there and either closed or out of tags. Drove to another and same thing. What? ?? Crazy warm weather will cause a lot of deer to be processed without check in due to this. Now......just a phone call on the spot in the woods with the cell phone. oh yeah! OBR is ok with me. Doe is a lot better eating than a small or young basket rack buck anyway. I have a current permit from the local sheriff in my wallet that allows me to carry, purchase, sell, or transfer a handgun. From what I understand, that is all I need to carry my pistol hunting and in the vehicle. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

Thanks for posting Woody. Glad Indiana is catching up with rest of the country. Telecheck will be outstanding. As of now I have to drive a half hour to forty five mins to check in a deer. I'm tired of that.

Telechek will be very popular for a few years, then you'll see some discontent because it's so easy that a lot of hunters will not comply with it. If they do it, they also need to show the results on the internet so that anyone can check to see if someone they know kill a deer, turkey, bobcat or whatever called it in. Here's telechek review for Ky., it's a great enforcement tool for the CO's -- fw.ky.gov/app1/harvestdcn.aspx

I really like the idea of making the fall turkey season to match deer archery season. MUCH simpler and easy to remember, and it will boost tag sales a bunch. It will now be worth buying a tag.

If you got one down in a Hellish spot to drag out it would be an awesome option or if you were alone with no help to drag out. I have always thought the requirement to produce a whole carcass was ridiculous.

I'm not sure leaving a carcass behind would be a good idea. Might lead to a lot of wasted time spent by CO's looking for poachers when none exist, especially on public land. Maybe quartering out and removing the whole animal out would be better. h.h.

If thats the case, then that makes you wonder why they call it TELEcheck. I know Illinois' is phone based.
