Who had been rabbit hunting already?
I've been twice and have seen a lot more rabbits than last year so far.

I quickly walked a few ditches a couple weeks ago. Kicked up one and took him home. Hoping to get out one morning this week. This weekend will be goose on Saturday and Deer on Sunday....close both of those seasons and chase bunnies the rest of the month.

Little too warm for bunny bustin' for me. They'll jump up 50 yards ahead of you with these temps.

Been wanting to go the last 2 years, but none of my hunting buds have beagles anymore. Sure do miss listening & watching the dogs work those quick rascals. Not to mention a nice mess of fried rabbit.

Yes, I cringe every time I see someone who has a beagle, that will never get to do what it was born to do, as a pet in my apartment complex.

I had a few days off after Christmas. I had promised some youngsters to get them out hunting with my dogs. So we hunted 3 days in a row in different places. My 4 beagles did one hell of a job and the kids did a great job of shooting. We got 16 in 3 days.

If any of you guys want to take the time to build some good rabbit cover now is a great time. I go get christmas trees and put them 3-4 in a pile. Rabbit s love them. I picked up 20 trees from Rural King after Christmas. They had a sign that said free. I also get them from the drop off places. I also lay some along fence rows.
