I live inside the city limits (Indianapolis). I have three nice rabbits that visit my yard regularly. I am thinking about "popping" them with my air rifle (once Rabbit season starts). I can't find anything that sez what I am planning is illegal. Anyone know different. Thanks.

I know Muncie has a "no discharge of firearms" ordinance that includes air rifles. I'm sure Indy would too. I would pop them with a slingshot.

I would leave them alone and go out HUNTING if I was hungry for rabbit! I'm sure it's very tempting, but come on!

It's PEST control! I don't think of this as HUNTING! They eat pretty much everything I try to grow in my garden, thus them being nice and fat. Just wanting to pop them during rabbit season in case somebody calls Animal Control on me. Cops friend told me once that you can get in more trouble for hurting a animal than a person. Maybe we need a urban rabbit season.

I have the same problem. Trust me, a well placed .177 pointed lead pellet will do the trick.

Man if you like rabbit get them in your yard with a bow or pellet gun. DONT TELL THE POLICE OR DONT BOARDCAST TO EVERYONE HOW OR WHEN YOU DO IT. If you like eatting them it's better then a cat or car getting them in town. Plus you are saving your yard plants, not like you are going yo the city park and hunting them. I remember several years ago when Jonnie Rutherford and Danny Sullivan both hit the same rabbit running from the outside of the track to the infeild durning the INDY 500 race. Charlie
