Tuesday night my son's football game got cancled due to rain. I got home and thought I'd do a little scouting. As I was getting dressed I thought ya know I haven't shot any squirrels this year. I also thought do I really want to clean any squirrels tonight ! So I grabbed my .22 pistol on the way out. I hadn't gone far when I heard this dude cutting. I snuck closer and waited until he came down the Hickory tree he was in. About 25 yards I had a good rest aim for the head....POP ! One dead tree rat ! Got him through the shoulders instead of the head but end result was the same. My first try with the Browning but I think it will be my weapon of choice from now on for the rats !

Hunting squirrels with a pistol is loads of fun! Although I have to admit, I have a scope on my Ruger.

Great job. I did the exact same thing today. Nabbed a red rat at 30 yrds with my buckmark, and a red dot. The problem was the hollow point tore about an inch hole one the opposite shoulder!
Some magnafication would be helpfull getting headshots.
I may put the red dot on my slug gun and get a scope for the buckmark. Any suggestions on a good and affodable scope for a browing buckmark?

Good shooting. Good looking Lab! Thanks guys it was fun. My son and I bought the Brownings just for plinking. He's almost 18 and doesnt like to hunt but is a handgun nut. I may scope it and try this again. Thats Buster Brown, my best friend. I wish I could say he's a pointing retrieving miracle but he's just a companion. Picked him up as a stray almost 3 years ago and yes I tried hard to find his owner but no luck. He has a better personality than 99% of the humans I know and doesn't complain like most of the women I know !!!! Therefore I let him stay !

When I was alot younger and had much better shooting skills I use to use my brother in laws Ruger revolver to shoot squirrel with. Only not to high up it was more of a sneak and shoot withing 5 yds or so with open sights. It was fun then I went to the army in 1970 and my skills at shoot go alot better.
