Ok, I've declared war on the little SOB's at my house. The score so far:
Chipmunks: -Bunch of holes in the flower bed, under the concrete pad -Dug up a Coral Bell perennial that I had planted last week! -Almost dug up daffodils -Killed numerous Zinnia seedlings
ME: -1 Chipmunk over the weekend with poison -1 Chipmunk tonight with .22 birdshot from about 15 feet
I HATE THEM this time of year! Who know's how many more there are??? I'm sure they are under the house too, they were getting in there last year....
Woody, if this needs to be moved, go ahead. ;D

Throw 'em all in a freezer bag ( except the poisoned ones ) and save 'em for mink, fox bait ....

I don't do any trapping, so they are just getting tossed.

Run some ammonia down in their holes. They love that.

I declared war on the little ground squirrels last year. I killed 24 of them in about 2 weeks in my yard.
The best way is to go get one of those small Have A Heart traps. Bait it with corn close to their hole. Once they are trapped, get out the old BB gun and put a BB in thier head. Works like a charm.
I have two small daughters (last summer they were 3 and 5). They thought it was cool watching the little critters take a BB to the head.
Sounds cruel, I know, but they can destroy a lawn in a matter of weeks.

Got another one two nights ago. Only problem was it was at my nieghbor's. I went over to get my Model 60 back (he had a varmint problem of his own), and saw one around one of his flower beds. Took two shots, but I got him. Offhand at 40-50 yards. The holes have slowed down considerably since I got that one with birdshot. I know there's still some around. Now if I could only do something about the @#!%^&* rabbits! I have virtually NO leaves left on my strawberries....

Try throwing moth balls around the outside edges of your garden. That usually keeps rabbits out.
