Going on my first state park hunt monday. Have been scouting it for two weeks. I have a questions on morals. I went in and set my stand up today. After getting everything set up i climbed down and started to do a little scouting. 50 yards from where i hung my stand i find where someone has some climbing sticks attached to a tree. My question is do i move my stand or is it first come first serve on monday? I am kind of torn here. I move and i will probably run into the same problem just reversed. Someone walking in on me monday morning. Give me some input here.

its first come first served, but you have already shown good sportsmanship by worrying about the ladder sticks being that close to you. Yes you run the same risk in reverse on those hunts. I'd pull the stand get a comfortable distance away. Not sure most would say that but its what I would do. I go in early on those hunts and try to flag off others with a flashlight beam. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

I would agree with hunter7x. You'll just feel better about it. But it is possible that someone will come in and perch practically next to you after you're settled in.
Part of the joys of public land hunting.

When I hunted the Parks, I'd go in, do my scouting asap and set my stand the first hour of the first day that it was open do do so. I'd also flag the heck out of it so it was visible.
When I first started hunting the Parks, I waited to scout and ended up walking around the first day of the hunt still hunting because I couldn't find a place that I liked that didn't already have a stand within 100 Yds of it.
Public land = first come, first served, but he was there first by placing his stand there first.

Wanted to see what the majority would answer. In all actuality. I hated to have to do it but i immediately moved my stand to another spot. Just thought i would do what i would want someone else to do for me. Hey maybe carma will smile upon me and reward me with a monster. Maybe my actions might insight someone else to do the same for another fellow hunter.

i have always been a respectful hunter and ethical about hunting around others , all while trying to rabbit and pheasant hunt, a true hunter has ethics and morals , stick with them. is what my grandad taught me , works for me.

With the forecast I just seen you might not have to worry with it. 90% chance of rain Monday with high winds again and like 70% chance of rain/snow showers Tuesday.
