Being in the military has made me miss the past two deer season due to deployments..this year I was in the states and nothing was stopping me from getting back into the woods..took leave the 12th through the 20th. We got into deer camp in sullivan co. Late on the 12th and stayed til wed. My cousin was able to take a nice 10 and I scored on a nice doe..didn't hunt back in henry co which is were my parents house until Saturday morning..we hunted our sweet spot a woods my cousin and I have killed many of deer of it never failed us. We stayed out of the woods the entire season this year until the sat. The 19th. Got in a little late didn't settle in til soon was already on the horizon. 10 min after I'm in the stand I see the flash of 2 white tails heading into the middle of the woods..I was set up on a corner of a cut cornfield just on the inside of the woods prolly 30 yrds in. 30 min later I hear the shuffle of leaves behind me the ones that cannot be mistaken for anything other than a deer..look back below me and see a doe..this being my last morning to hunt before having to leave and come back to work colorado..I was about to shoot her just when the thought crossed my mind "this is the time of year when anything can happen" sure enough I look back behind her and at 40 yrds stands a giant! Facing me he lifts his high a back over his left shoulder to hit a hanging branch..that turns him just enough to open up his sweet spot..muzzle loader hit its mark..he ran 40 yrds before crashing in front of me in plan site..veryh proud been a long time coming for a good buck! Green score 161 and weighed 188lbs field dressed Attachments:

Very nice buck. Love the mass.
Thanks to you and all of our soldiers for your dedication and service to this country. Your sacrifice allows all of us the freedoms that we have and the chance to sit in the woods when we desire.
