If it has that extra "safety" you screw in or out I would get rid of it. I would use real black powder like 2f Goex. I seem to remember this was what Knight recommended. Another thing is to use a hard card wad between the powder and the plastic wad to prevent plastic melting onto the barrel walls. You may want to check bore size too before opening the wads. Knight advertised it as being back bored. In a muzzle loader you want a tight fit on your overpowder wad. Remember powder first, wads, shot and an over shot wad. Good luck.

These are 2 sources I use for muzzle loading accessories and wads. You will want a good range rod to use for loading and cleaning. Use the ramrod under the barrel for hunting. I use 120 grains of 2f Goex, .125 hard card wad, 2 1/4" cushion wads lubed, 1-3/4 oz #6 hard lead shot and an over shot wad in my 10 bore. I set it off with a CCI cap. I do not have any experience with modern ML's but I have been shooting ML for over forty years Good luck, Steve www.circlefly.com/html/welcome.htmlwww.trackofthewolf.com/index.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1&as=1

I have 2 buddies that the extra safety, the one that screws on/off, caused them to miss an opertunity. Probably should blame the operator more than the device. Since I am a believer in the K.I.S.S. system I just don't see the need to complecate something so simple. I do not recall hearing a negitive about the TK2000, I was comenting based on what I know about other Knights.

with the screw in safty you can leave the gun cocked all the time just screw the knob in when walking from place to place no need to unprime it when hunting screw it out and use the other safty as Said I find it handy witout jeperdizing safty
