I just recently purchased my first trail camera and put it out last night near our pond. How often do you guys typically check your cameras?

Try to leave it undisturbed as long a period as you can stand. The anticipation can be tough, but the less you visit the area the less scent you leave behind and less game you spook. usually a few weeks is all I can stand though. LOL

I don't have the discipline to keep from checking them often which I the reason why I haven't used them the past few years.
I plan to buy a couple more next year and check them only when hunting in the area. Carry a couple extra sd cards and quickly swap them and move on.

That was my problem, coupled with being right behind the house I was checking about every 2-3 days. It just hangs on a tree now, no card, no batteries...I really should set it up again and see what I can get this go around.

I have decided with the warm weather, I am going to wait until Sunday evening. A full week near the water should result in a picture or two.
