Open to employees and some non-employee hunters the entire archery season. Open to the employees for gun on weekends. Not sure when first weekend to gun hunt for employees is but I could check.
Some of the guys on here hunt Crane on a regular should know. I work there but have yet to hunt on the place.

Employees and Military assigned to Crane are allowed to hunt deer during the entire archery season. Contractors assigned to a desk inside the fence are essentially considered employees.
Employees are also allowed to hunt small game during any state season Employees are only allowed to use Firearms (limited to 22 rimfire and shotguns) on weekends and holidays, Archery is allowed anytime.
Waterfowl gets too complicated to explain here.
We are only to gun hunt deer on the same days as the state draw hunters of which there are 4. There is also 1 public disabled firearm hunt before the state draw hunts.
The dates for this years Firearm deer hunts are
11/6 Public Disabled Firarm hunt
11/13, 11/20, 12/4, and 12/11 Public/Employee Firearm hunt

Hardwickbv, Did that buck in your avatar come off of crane property? very nice deer!
My son and I were drawn again this year for crane. Dec 4th and Dec 11th. This is our 3rd year in a row, we really enjoy hunting there, very nice country. Last year we both blanked but could have killed numerous small bucks and does.
The year before last he killed a very nice 140" 11 point and I killed the biggest 6 point I had ever seen.

Hardwickbv, Did that buck in your avatar come off of crane property? very nice deer! Thanks Yes he come off Crane . I took him on the second weekend in 2004, he currently is the biggest ever taken at Crane and in Martin county. I am usually there every weekend and may be the guy that guides you into your parking spot or taking your ticket in the building after the safety brief. Thanks again Bob

New to the site. My brother in law and his brother in law both work at crane and hunt there all the time. Last year my brother killed a 146 8 point and his brother in law shot a gross 197 12 point 30 minutes later hunting 400 yards north of where he was, that was absolutly the biggest deer I have ever seen in person (not sure what its official score was)
My buddie and I were lucky enough to be drawn for the 11/13 and 11/20 hunts this year, so I am looking forward to having an opportunity at a nice whitetail.
