Responsive Management surveys do not come cheap so my best guess it IS the F & W Department of our IDNR. I don't know of any other group that would dole out that much cash just to get the feel of what Indiana deer hunters want. Most of these groups leaders would rather falsely tell the IDNR what the Indiana deer hunters want regardless of the facts.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife is not the Indiana DNR. In fact, The Division of Fish and Wildlife is a pretty generic term. Are you guys sure this is something from the DNR and not just something some random group paid to have completed? Have you looked this up? Our DNR is comprised of several Divisions. water forestry historic preservation and archeology fish and wildlife nature preserves parks and reservoirs ect....

Yes. I apply for draw hunts, so the DNR has my email in the system.

I apply too and get emails for various things from IDNR so I must have been one of the unlucky few!
Oh well, I can blame firstwd when they change the regs again, since I didn't get a chance to let my voice be heard!

I didn't get one. I'm a lifetime license holder and also apply for the hunts online.

OK, what's the deal. Why resend a survey that they already sent out? Why do it AFTER the comment period. Seems strange, like getting the cart before the horse.

I believe this is the survey they send out every two years and not connected with the proposed deer rule changes. Woody, you back me up on this?

Unless they get the results that they want they will ignore it anyway. I've seen it too many times in the past where a good majority wanted something and the DNR F & W ignored it. It didn't fit in with their plans. Make no mistake about it the F & W are thinking BIG BUCKs (deer and money) from here on in. Put it in the book!

They do this every couple years. Most times it is in house. There are a good number of questions on this one that is not in the present proposal.

Wait until you see the change crossbows in all archery gets the 20th of this month. DNR has bought into the big buck market and wont stop trying to change the season structure until they get their way.

Oh well, I can blame firstwd when they change the regs again, since I didn't get a chance to let my voice be heard! I'll take the blame. Especially if the changes I would like to see actually happen. ;D I had the privilege of a couple hour conversation with my regional biologist and the state waterfowl biologist a few years ago, and got to see my desires a reality the next season. I don't know if our conversation was the tipping point for the change, but I sure like to think it helped.
