Havent seen any talk about the Republicans in the race ..... I guess everyone is following the "if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all" rule?
I keep pulling for Ron Paul but I seriously doubt if he will be the last man standing.
The rest of the front runners scare the crap out of me. At this point in time I cant see myself actually voting for Bachmann or Perry ......
Herman Cain finally got his foot out of his mouth from that whole "right to ban mosques" thing but I think he has less of a chance than Paul of making it till the end.
Newt is a smart dude but he doesnt seem to be able to get his own campaign running smoothly so that has to hurt his chances of getting elected to run a country.
Fate is gonna serve Obama up on a silver platter and if the Republicans dont come up with a better option than those currently running im not sure even that silver platter will be enough.

I find Ron Paul to be a solid nut case. I can't make up my mind on Perry until I have a solid line on his stand on border issues. I do like him a lot, and if he will call for the border being properly secured, and illegals caught here being sent back, I'll vote for him. Michelle is a good gal, but I don't think she's presidential material. VP maybe. I like Herman Cain alot but don't believe he really has a chance. Mitt Romney is nothing but a polished up McCain. Newt is very smart and an experienced politician but that's all he is. A politician.

Yeah .... its an interesting field right now.
I dont think there are enough pluses for Perry to make up for his (at least in my book) minuses. Right now I cannot see any situation where I would actually vote for the man. I hope Im not faced with that decision.

My vote? Anybody except Obama.
The Republican primary will be decided by the time they get to Indiana.

It wasn't that long ago that Indiana kept Hillary in the running for a few more days.

The current crop isn't all that encouraging to me, either. I like Ron Paul's ideology the most, but have some difficulty with a few of the details, and I doubt the electability of a person his age to the office. Most of the rest seem to either be too much more-of-the-same-ol'-GOP, or more of the same neo-cons ignoring the separation of chuch and state in favor of the theocracy pushed by the ayatollahs of the religious right.
Used to be a Newt fan, a decade and more ago, but the bloom kinda fell off that rose.
I'd like to find out more about Gary Johnson, the former NM governor. The little I've read so far indicates that he's a younger Ron Paul with executive experience and sounds pretty good, but I've only started to look into him and he doesn't appear to be gaining much attention. Not sure of his border policies yet, either.

You hear his name a lot.
Russ, that is the problem I have with Perry and Bachmann ..... Im not real sure they "get" the first amendment. Many on the right dont see anything wrong with either of their stances on religion but many in the center, or those who are fiscally conservative but socially liberal, will have problems with them.

I agree, swilk. I think those are major reasons why the liberals can retain so much electoral strength. Their policies suck, but they are matched by the ayatollahs of the right and the younger people just don't cotton to the bigotry and messing with personal freedoms from either side.
Where's Barry Goldwater now that we are ready for him?
Instead, we have modern so-called Republicans tossing freedom in the trash to appease the "base" that is leading them over the cliff to again becoming an inconsequential minority party. No tent seems small enough for them.
The Kenyan seems to be doing his part to provide them with an opportunity, and the GOP seems to be running as hard as possible to avoid seizing it.
The future ain't looking real bright. BMB

Herman Cain is making this interesting.
I have to admit I do like the man .... a lot. His early comment on banning mosques kind of gives me the sense he is as tone deaf to the First Amendment as a lot of other rightys but he has more than made up for it with some of his other comments.
He is saying things that only a black man could get away with. Telling folks if they are poor it is their own fault. If they are unemployed it is their own fault. Telling folks to take responsibility for their own actions and their own lives.
Yep .... me likey Cain.

Can't vote for Perry. He had a chance to stand up to the TSA and stop sexual molestation and porno pictures at airports and he totally caved in. We know whose side he's on now.
Cain is another Federal Reserve lackey. Asking the Fed's own lackeys to solve the economic mess they made is insanity. Might as well ask the Pope to end Catholicism.
Basically, there are only two real candidates running for the Republican ticket - Ron Paul and everyone else.
Bachman, Cain, Perry, Romney... different suit, same clown.
Whether you like Ron Paul or not, he is indisputably the ONLY man on either side of the aisle who represents a genuine, authentic change of direction for this nation.
Everyone else is business as usual. More war, more printing phony money, more debt, more destruction of the constitution.

ABO as many of my friends and neighbors. Ron Paul has been labeled a nut so he will have no chance. But as long as you vote for someone, then good for you.

With a year to go before the elections the best we can hope for is a candidate to come along who not only speaks to the public, but speaks for them. Someone who speaks plainly, without guile or pretense. Don't hold your breath, though...

If Bobby Jingle could straighten out Louisiana a bit more, he could be on the ticket in 2016. He just doesn't have enough experience in leader ship yet, but does have a popular following.
