No Longer! Yesterday afternoon... Three came up the ridge I was sitting on to my right, hit the fire break in front of me and started feeding right to left. I waited until all three heads were behind trees to my right and drew. It seemed like they started moving in slow motion after my bow was drawn! I ended up shooting her at about 7 paces. I was waiting on the gobbler to feed out from behind the brush he was in, but she presented the best shot (thank goodness I could'nt have held that draw much longer). Taken from the ground with no blind. I wasn't completely positive that I had hit her at first because she was so close, she just flinched a little and took 4 steps and piled up dead. First turkey ever.

Nice job !
Mine died REALLY quickly also...I'm guessing the difference in a head shot full of #5's and an organ shot with a bow.

Taken from the ground with no blind? Wow! That is impressive. I have a hard time staying still with a gun on the ground. congrats on the bird. I'd flip if I called a gobbler in during the spring time and shot him with a bow and no blind.

Earlier in the afternoon a lone gobbler came in from the left. I was perfectly still and he made me right away, quick U turn and he was gone. She actually showed the signs of realizing something wasn't right, as she stretched her neck straight up and started to putt when the arrow was on its way.

Thanks fellers. Now if I could just connect with a deer, they've been laying low at my spot.
