Today I put a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9 x40 on my 10/22. It looks good and seems like it will be a great combination. It will be shooting CCI LR subsonics (1050fps) and I still need to get it dialed in. I haven't used a .22 in the early season in a long time, but this should be fun!

I never could get subsonics to group out of my 10/22. Always shot CCI Mini Mags great.

I use a Savage Mark II with a bull barrel, 4X32 Japan made Tasco and a 5 shot clip. Ive shot just about every kind of .22 ammo made and this Savage will shoot it all.
CCI Mini Mags are very accurate in the gun but for squirrel hunting I like to use Remington Thunderbolt lead bullets. I made a jig out of a piece of small steel pipe that just lets the bullet nose protrude. I then use a file and make the bullet into a blunt nose bullet, like an Elemer Keith bullet. When it hits a squirrel you can hear the bullet make a "thunk" noise.
I always try for a head shot but sometimes miss the spot and the nice thing about these bullets over hollowpoints is you dont tear up the squirrels. Ammo is cheaper too. h.h.
