The antlers are not a reliable guide and you can't see his body. The face looks youngish, but again it's summer. I think it's a lot harder to judge age in pictures during the summer period. We see these monster bucks killed with the hunter having pictures of them during the summer showing their skinny necks and bodies. Then in the fall they look like bulls! A month or two of hormones makes a difference.

I have no clue on how to age a deer to be honest, atleast not by antler size, or body size and shape, I agree that it would be harder to tell in the summer months due to thinner bodies and not fully grown antlers. I know a lil bout aging using the teeth but thats not very handy when the deer is "on the hoove" so to speak lol.
But IMO, I wouldnt hesitate to take this buck during season !! I sure would love to have those "backstraps" on the grill bout right now Lol !!! I have said it countless times Im not a hunter concerned with antler size and I guess not much on concentrating on takin a "mature" deer either. Im an "opprutunity hunter" "If Im given the oppprutunity" I'd take it ! That is its deer season and I have a tag....... Im sure when it comes down to it, if your given the chance to see this buck while hunting & given a good shot opprutuinty you will know whether its one you wanna take or not. I know the question was his age yet I think you are curious about it so you know whether or not given a chance if you would try to take this buck, I've been wrong before so if thats not the case I apoligize.
Good Luck this season & God Bless Take a kid or non hunter hunting when you can it will make memories to last a lifetime, for both you and them (or atleast thats been my experience)

And to make it clear I say Im not concerned with antler size and "mature" deer but I wouldnt take a deer thats not legal !! I dont shoot a fawn with spots or anything like that. I wanted to clear that up before someone thought I was a poacher or an unethical hunter, lol.
I just meant that if im legally hunting and the deer is legal, I would take the deer, Im a "freezer filler" kind of hunter I guess. IMO I need the meat, and enjoy the sport of hunting to limit myself on the size of the deers rack, or the age of it. I by no means think its wrong for a person to hunt that way, to each their own. If you are a "antler" hunter or only take a deer based on what you think its age is then Im happy for you as long as your happy !
I only hunt public ground and Im limited to the amount of time I can spend hunting since Im a stay at home dad of two sons (age 4 & 5) so I take the opprutunity to fill the freezer when I can. If I had more time and had a couple private spots I might concern myself with things like that after I filled the freezer with a few does, but Im not at that point right now, plus I dont hunt during firearms season, alot of public areas I hunt are overcorwded to my liking during that time period, and to top it off I only choose to bowhunt anymore so Im out of the woods more than Im in it lol.
Good Luck to you all and I just wanted to clear that up about my "opprutunity hunter" statement lol. ~INDeerhunter~
