I got into a bit of a heated discussion with another gunowner today about the practice of "bumpfiring" a weapon. So, I thought I would post up a poll to find a few viewpoints.

I clicked the "once, but never again" option. There wasn't an option that really fit for me, but that was probably the closest...
I've done it once with my AR, and my wallet isn't big enough to do it on a regular basis. With a good backstop and safety in mind, I don't see an issue with it for smaller caliber firearms like an AR. I've never shot an SKS or AK, so I don't know how the recoil is on those.
Is it a waste of ammo? Possibly depending on your viewpoint. Is it fun? Again, depending on your viewpoint it can be. Can it get expensive quickly? Most definitely!

Please enlighten me as to what "bump firing" is.

Never have, seems kind of pointless.

No:because it seems like a pointless and possibly dangerous waste of ammo.

Thanks for the link. Not sure I'd want to try that.

As the owner of an M16, I've never had the need to bumpfire.

As an owner of a HK 53 I just move the selector up one notch.

I did use to bump fire when friends and I were messing around shooting Cars and other fun objects. Unless you are shooting your buddys ammo, who cares.

I do the grip setscrew and JP lighter spring kit, notch the back of the trigger so I can get more creep out (AR 15) and it makes for a cheap and usable hunting trigger ($20). It also allows for easy bump firing.
Done it, don't see what the big deal is.
Easy with my setup, and controllable. But I can aim and shoot well, fast, so see no need in going a little faster with less accuracy.
I don't think zombies will be fast movers.
