Who hunts public land turkeys outside of IN??
what advice would you have first time out of state turkey hunter?? ;D ;D
My first choice would be trying KY or OH next spring combined with a 3-4 day camping trip on all public land

The WMAs in Ky that are close to the Ohio R. get hammered with other NR hunters. I'd drive further and hunt in the Daniel Boone N.F or Yatesville WMA. Yatesville is packed with birds, but it's rough terrain.

PM me. I hunt Kentucky public land every year and have for 10 yrs..only one year I didn't kill a bird...but you gotta be willing to get of the beaten path and not afraid to walk in for a couple miles or three...not for the faint of heart that's for sure.

I have hunted several out of states locations. Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota. All have great hunting. SD probably has the easiest birds to hunt and lots of public access while Kansas has great opportunities on their walk in areas. Nebraska was great because land owners were still approachable to gain permission to turkey hunt. Do your home work on whatever state you decide on and hunt every legal minute you can. Ive killed just as many if not more birds after the morning traditional time. those afternoon gobblers get lonely! Also go as late in the season as you can.
