So far from what my wife was just calling up online on our insurance billing: Surgeon $9050 Surgery center $15711 anesthesiologist $1500+ 1 rehab session $200+(right now I'm going in 2Xweek for the next 2 weeks) so far looking at around $26000 but don't have the X-ray, MRI, lab tests or their associated charges yet...also will have the original Doctor visit charges that should probably be added in to that...Thank God for insurance!!!! And all I've got to show for it is four pencil sized scars and three more months of rehab... But I sure did get that Christmas tree loaded for the Boy Scouts

ouch.
Would still cost me about $5000 with my 80/20 insurance and deductible.
It is amazing how much my insurance coverage has changed in the last 10 years. It literally cost us $10 to have our first child 8 years ago. Insurance covered everything in full.
Our 4 year old cost about $2k.
To have another today would cost 20% of the total ... whatever that would be from start to finish.
Same employer. Same insurance.
Good luck in the rehab ... hopefully it will be better than new when is all said and done.

hey, dadfsr where did you have ur surgery done and who was ur surgeon. I work in surgery and we do this all the time. Yeah it is crazy what outpatient surgery costs, but just think how much it would of cost if it was not outpatient. You will be around 30-35000 when said and done.

Glad you stayed out of the mini bar. I would hate to see what that would have added.

Mine was on Uncle Sam's dime, so zero cost to me (I tore it doing combatives training). The other side of the coin is that sometimes yo get what you pay for....It took them a year to do the surgery and after a year of rehab they siad"well, that is as good as it is going to get, have a nice life!" Thanks to God for the VA, at least a get a little something for my pain

Other than a little mix up on reporting times (girls at the desk said I was an hour early) I've been thoroughly impressed with everyone...even with my family doc playing the insurance game and waiting a couple of weeks to see if it "got better" If you work there let me know...we may have a few friends in common-my daughter works there for starters.

Indeed, Thank God For Insurance!! Sad part is that before the medical industry became all messed up, that surgery would have cost you a great deal less. With all the malpratice insurance costs, office costs & overhead and, all the paper work, the Doctors are victims too.
