I hunted with Pastor Brad, Gary, Chuck, Mark, & a new friend Mike along with 2 of my hounds 2 of Brad's and 1 of Mark's. We jumped and seen more rabbits than I have seen in the last 5 years, next time we go there will definately be an all day trip, RABBITS GALORE!!! Dogs jumped and hunted 9, all 9 were shot with me bagging 2 but brought 4 home thanks to Chuck and Mark. I was only able to hunt for 4.5 hours today and it was awesome. I could just imagine what an all day hunt would have produced, I would be willing to bet all 6 of us would have bagged out, we seen more rabbits than that, we seen close to 40. These hounds really hit the thick stuff hard, I believe all 5 hounds were bloody in no time at all, my 2 were bleeding from the ears, tail and feet. I wish now I would have taken the camera. I have to give the hounds a big thumbs up for thier jump work! PS. These rabbits werent that skinny, they were gutted in the field. Attachments:

Thanks guys, well Daviess Hunter moving targets are hard to hit especialy rabbits because they are so darn quick and you never know when they are going to make that turn on a dime and getaway. There is nothing to be embarassed about though, heck... my buddy gary..... well I havent heard his gun go off rabbit hunting in the past 4 years, no kidding! The rabbit is usually dead before he gets the gun shouldered. LOL!

I just can't pick a moving target up quick enough...even clay pigeons.

The Snow ranged anywhere from 3 to 8 inchs deep and had a pretty good crust on it, the rabbits couldnt break through the crust for the most part but did in some places however the dogs broke through it majority of the time. Thanks for the congrats and HECK YEAH it's FUN!!!

Good hunt!!
I sure do miss the rabbit hunting. Loved hunting with the dogs, but also loved taking the .22 with some snow on the ground.

................. great hunt ,nothing like hearing beagles running on a hot trail.................thanks for sharing..... ......turkey scout Your welcome and Thank You turkeyscout, I absolutely love the sound of my beagles running. Have you ever heard a pack of 11 to 20 hounds all running the same rabbit? It is a wonderful experience, nothing like it at all. If I couldn't have my beagles I would be so lost.

Congrats. I can't wait to get home in April and take the hounds out for a run. There's nothing better than hearing them hot on the trail of a rabbit.
