As hard as it is to get drawn, apparently there are quite a few folks who want to!!! Everytime I see a turkey @ Atterburry, its not 1 or 2 its 3 or 4 DOZEN!!!!!

I've got a private piece of ground to hunt that is adjacent to the military side of Atterbury, it is a great turkey spot! Almost doubled up this past season on opening day.

I hunt on the public side. Last year on opening day I had 7 longbeards in a field. I never did get one, but I did call one in for my stepdad, it was his first turkey hunt ever. I plan on going back to this spot again this year. There is plenty of places to hunt on the public side and not too many hunters. I have never put in for the draw hunt there.

I talked to the Atterbury guys last year and they only had a few toms taken on the public side. There are quite a few birds there. Anyway I decided that I'd just hunt the HN or some of the private land I have.
