I still make up a batch of black powder with sulfur and salt peter I mine from the ground along with casting my bullets from lead or I mine from the ground. Anybody that uses blackhorn 209 and shockwaves are cheating and probably wants to use a crossbow during archery season. LOL Just kidding I still love hunt with my TC New Englander, Hawkins, Renegade , White Mountain carbine along with my Traditions in-line and my TC Omega, Mathews Switchback, Wicked Ridge Invader X-bow, Bear Kodiak recurve, H&R Handi 44mag, Smith & Wesson 686 357 mag. They are all deer slayers. It's all about choice, not only weapons choice, but sex and size of deer you put a tag on.

I have TC white mountain carbine that is deadly with that combo! Those little TC White Mountain carbines are nothing but sweet. Light and deadly accurate. Mine is my go to gun during firearms and muzzy season when I choose an iron sites weapon while hunting in thick heavy cover.

I am still using mine after 20 years,T/C Hawkin 50 cal. patched round ball 80gr. of powder. I back the powder down sometimes and use it on squirrel, head shots only, saves time cleaning head is already gone.

For this firearms season I am carrying my TC Renegade and patch and ball, have had this gun now going on 4 year have yet to take a deer with it, haven't tried near hard enough so this is the year she is up to bat till she fills a tag, got very lucky, bought it brand new in the box, 4 years ago from a owner that never fired it. Great gun very accurate. Good luck to everyone.
