I'm hoping to get into turkey hunting this year. I have a question about choke preferences: HS Strut Undertaker .665 choke, and Carlson's .655 choke. Any input? parson

I believe that what you`ll find is the choke can be as picky as a gun barrel. You could try several different chokes with your particular gun and ammo, and you`d see different results-even different than a buddy shooting the same choke-but maybe with a different load.
The turkey chikes are expensive too, and you can`t take one out to try and bring it back if it doesn`t work out so well.
I`ve got to sound like an advertisement for them, but I`ve come to believe the load you shoot is the most critical component-and I fell in love with the Winchester Xtended Range Hi-Density turkey loads. I shoot the 3" in 6-shot, and it`s just incredible.

The undertaker, works well in my Browning with #5's and well in my 835, with #4's. Federal ammo. Both 3.5 inch.

It is going to depend on the gun and the amo you use. Some will shoot good some bad and some great. It sounds like time to get the patterning board out and fire some shots.

I like my HS Undertaker in my Nova. Haven't shot a bird yet, but the targets have nice holes in them....LOL

I have an Undertaker on my 20 gage pump, it patterns a softball with Federal Heavy Field 6s at 30 yards, and only slightly larger at 40.

I use a Rhino .660 with Nitros and it is unbelievable combo. I've used just about every choke tube and ammo there is and this is by far the best I've seen. I shot a turkey at 52 yards and he dropped like he was shot at 20 yards!

I appreciate all of the replies. I've patterned my factory choke with trap loads but not with any hunting loads. I guess that should be the first step before buying another choke. parson

I really find it hard to believe spending $50 or more dollars for a coke tube will be worth it. Play with different size shot and brands for sure also.
