I was in Florida for the first two weeks of Feb. hog hunting and saw a lot of Osceola turkeys. Several flocks of hens and 10 -12 gobblers. The last Sunday morning of my hunt I was sitting in a stand called Center Pond. At day break there were three toms gobbling on the roost and I was right in the middle. Each was about 100 yds of more away from me. At day light several hens started flying down and cackling away. The gobblers soon followed. I had hens walking up the road to my stand calling to the gobblers add the toms strutting behind me gobbling their heads off. What a sight! It was too dark for pictures so I sat back and watched the display. One tom bred a hen in front of me and finally the vanished into the tall grass of the flag pond. Florida's turkey season starts March 3 and the turkeys are just starting to breed. Below is a picture of a Osceola tom that did everything but walk were i could take his picture. He walked away from me behind the tree and finally came out. If you look closely to wards the top of the tree you can see his back. When I first tried to take his picture he was broadside next to me with his beard hanging and got behind that tree and walked away from me. All that turkey gobbling got my adrenaline going for our season. I should have used the movie mode on the camera and got them gobbling but didn't think of it. h.h.

I would love to have a pair of those long sharp spurs.

Those two hens at the front of the picture sure are small.
