It was a whiteout just before I was going to leave this afternoon. You all had me spooked on misfires so I got out my old meat rifle. Blew the dust out and stoked her up. Takes the same load as my flinter I just need to remember caps. I saw 3 this evening out in the field. Too dark to shoot. With the single I saw yesterday it was not a bad weekend. I will try tomorrow AM. I heard a single shot at 4:45 and 2 from different directions at 5:30. Man that wind cut right through me tonight.

Are you guys snapping a cap before you load? Always want to snap atleast 1. It gets any moisture out of your flash chamber. Especially on the side hammer percussion cap models, makes a difference.

I was worried about my gun last night so I went home and took it apart. The BH powder was drier than a pop corn fart so I was good.
