Has anyone truly ever heard this in the woods....not made by a hunter? I guess my question is has anyone ever had luck with this. I like them as a grunt call, but have never seen the roar actually work. I have only tried it as a hail mary at the end of the night. Anyone ever have luck with it trying as loud as they say in their videos

I have never heard it in the woods but I have had luck with the call. Soon after the Buck Roar first came out, I had a buck 100 yards away on the side of the fence I couldnt hunt on. I first used a regular buck call and he paid no attention. I then grabbed the Buck Roar gave it a couple blasts and here he came! He came over on my side and the rest is history. It has been my primary call since then. Drew a buck in last week with it to within 15 yards.

I have owned both calls, i prefer the roar by primos i think its more natural and you can make a louder normal grunt without it turning into the roar to reach bucks farther away. But i have tried the 'roar" on bucks and it has never brought one in ive only called in three deer with a grunt my first buck, a buck i missed and the nice buck i got this year. This is just my opinion but I dont like getting caught up in all those gagets. I Bring my grunt from day One and will rattle occasionally but stuff like the roars and acorn cruncher are just companys running out of call ideas. But like i said the primos roar is by far my favorite grunt, its got good tone, its rubber, and it has the snort wheeze on it, BUT I never use the "roar".

I heard it for the first time last year 5 days before gun season kicked in. I was in my favorite tree & with about 5-10 minutes of light left I heard some deer come crashing toward me from behind. I grabbed my bow & stood up just in time to see a big buck chasing 2 does right to me. Just as I was turning around & noticed the buck he made the roar sound - no grunts or anything else with it - just one loud roar!!!!! One doe stopped about 10 yards from my tree & the buck stopped at 30 yards. I shot at the buck but hit a small branch that wasn't visible at that distance with the lack of light. It sounded just like the advertisement for the Primos buck roar.

I have heard it one time but I know for a fact it can be devastating to a big deer. I have drawn bucks away from hot does more than once. One night I heard a buck chasing a doe and grunting with every step in a thicket 100yds away. I thought Id roar at the deer and see if he would show himself. Well low and behold within about 4 seconds I had a 160" 8pt at the base of my tree and my bow still on the hanger. Needless to say he lived to see another day but the call did its job.

I heard a roar for the first time about three or four years ago. Then I also heard it when I was hunting Brown County State Park this past Monday. This buck was grunting, roaring, growling, he was making every noise in the book. All the while chasing does all over the place. I have never actually owned the call, but I may invest in one, since my grunt call fell apart on me last weekend.

Well i guess I was wrong and they do really make that sound, will havt to use the roar more often now!!
