I had surgery this morning and it looks like I won't be hunting for two weeks! I had a stomach hernia repaired, but all is well for the most part. Good luck to all and I hope to rejoin you afield by the 2nd weekend in gun season.

The 'nuts' part is I have JUST noticed what I am certain is the same/similar diagnosis as BOTH of you!! Hmmm, I wonder if perhaps it is associated with 'age'...?! ;D

I am 29, but the surgeon said that the belly button has a small hole in the abdominal wall and lifting and physical activities can push fat or small intestine though and it gets stuck. It will only get worse so I suggest getting it repaired. It is a 30 minute procedure and they will knock you out with a General anesthetic and then begin carving you like a pumpkin. Join our club! ;D

Been there and done that... NOT fun at all.
I remember coming out of the anesthesia and thinking "Hey, no problem". I felt good. They gave me some pain medicine to take home with me and I thought "I'll not need that" - WRONG! When the local anesthesia wore off I was downright hurting and miserable for close to a week..
I was climbing trees and hunting about 2 1/2 weeks after mine, unbeknowing to my Docter who is a deer hunter too.. I had a badly sprained ankle at the same time. Needless to say I hunted a stand close to the road..... we call it "The Happy Stand" as we can wave at folks driving down the gravel road.

Get well soon Jajwrigh. At least it's only two weeks or so. It's been 2 years since I've seen the deer woods. (I get to reset the clock the last two days of muzzy season this year).

Last night into this morning was among the most painful time in my life. I was accidently taking half of the recommended dosage of my pain killer! It was a horrible experience, but I have since corrected that and the surgeon said that I could take Ibu Profen as well. I feel artificially wonderful and there is very litttle pain right now..
Chico - Glad you are coming home soon, will this be for good?

My left groin is still numb( no jokes please! ) My regular doc said that nerves were cut and they would not regenerate if they had not done so by now.

Update:
I am feeling much better and I have been working full days. I am on weight restrictions for 4 weeks so my father in law said I should hunt this weekend and he would gut and drag anything I shoot to my atv! I think my encore and shooting sticks fall short of my 20lb restriction! WAHOOOO!! ;D ;D ;D
