I just started posting some topics in the last few day's after bailing out for months from all the arguing and compaining on this forum about the rule changes. I'm not saying it was JUST this forum as it was starting to happen on a few others I visit. What I'm asking is this........Woody, Decatur and a few of you other regulars. Do you noticethat the posting's are down considerably from last year at this time? It seems like people have shyed away since all the turmoil that split the groups? It used to be that once Oct. hit it was non-stop posting and very interesting reading, now not so much. Give your honest opinion no matter your view, has anyone else noticed this?

I have noticed the negativity, but maybe there are not as many people posting cause they are out huntin' so they will have something to post about! ;D

Might be some guys aren't really happy with the side of the fence they reside on?

OK Timex, I'll bite! Meaning what? They don't like the NRC's new proposals, or they don't like the backlash from the general public that said proposals caused!

Maybe some are simply tired of forums. That is it's the same old stuff being rehashed over & over again.

Not sure how to go back past the last 6 months on my forum analytics but for the last 6 months we are in a pretty good climb in number of threads started, number of posts, new members, daily visitors and page views.
During the "debate" on the proposals we were getting 1,600 page views a day. That is a lot for a forum like this.
Number of people checking the site per day goes anywhere from 700 during the week end days to right at 1,000 during the week. That is pretty heavy traffic for a ProBoard forum..
I'm perfectly satisfied where we are in progress of the forum..

Members come and members go...... Most stay because they like the atmosphere here.
Difference of opinion is a good thing and should be voiced by all no matter what side of the fence you are on. The problem some have is how to voice their opinion without attacking others in the process.
Not everyone finds a home here and thats OK. That is why there are other sites. This site is pro-hunting and we take a dim view of people who want to limit our ability to hunt, take away hunting days and weapon choices. h.h.

I get tired of that BS and I'm sure I'm not the only one. If you can state your opinion, I can state mine, and that's how it should be. Why does it have to get so nasty? I have noticed that the Campfire has slowed, but perhaps that is partly because of more attention given to the Politics forum?

What would help if the forum could be slightly little more academic & scientific, instead of talking about trivial & political issues.

It just seemed like after bailing out for a few months to let the bickering ease up I see alot of older post's at the top. I didn't seem to notice this as much last season, new post's every few minutes. I didn't even enter the contest this year to avoid the guys who claimed they would no longer shoot does even though you will see them entered. You would be the one to notice a drop off if one had occured and I believe you if you say it hasn't. Thanks Speaking of drop off, where's that old dog Decatur? I know his post's have dropped since I'm back?

What would help if the forum could be slightly little more academic & scientific, instead of talking about trivial & political issues. Trouble is, those posts often don't get a lot of responses, (though they show that they have been read) so it kind of discourages you from posting them.

If that was a shot at me or the other almost half of people on here that didn't have as much a problems with the changes then so be it. I will say though that "WE" is a pretty strong word since one of the last poll's I have seen showed about 50/50 on the rule changes. Maybe you should have said half of us take a dim view? Somehow guys like you think that the beliefs on this one of many hunting forums are the majority throughout the state, and you would be wrong.I bet if you would post a poll giving the choice to kill 4 bucks and extend season by 3 months half would approve it. I'm sorry but I think this will be great for our states deer herd.
