my new pup! A few months ago, we bred my main dog, Cotton (Rockpoint Chief Cotton of Miller's Chief) to Ruby (Elhew Ruby of Elhew Snakefoot) and Ruby had 6 beautiful pups (4 males and 2 females). The best pup so far with similar "Cotton" attributes is shown here simply as "male #3". We'll know more after we watch the pups with the wing. I like to keep my dogs names one syllable (like Duke, Jake, or Zeke) or possibly two syllables if the second syllable sort of tapers off (like Cotton or Bailey). It makes commands and training easier. I'd love to here some suggestions.

I have 2 GSP's now. Cooper. And Bailey. I am like you for naming them. I like HARD consonants.
Congrats on a new pup.

I showed the pic to my wife... is "Awwwwww!" one syllable? At first she said, "He looks like a Sparkey!" I suggested that that was perhaps not befitting a hunting dog. After a pause, she suggested "Bo." I thought about "Stripe" for the ear...though his siblings might have that. I'm also fond of "Clem" for a hillbilly feel. You could post a poll of your narrowed options and let the forum vote, like I did with my screen name.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. And the winner is ...... "ROCK" Actually there's no magic to the name except my wife simply said, "I think you should name him Rock!" I actually picked a different pup from the one pictured above and I owe a ton of thanks to whitetail1 for helping in the selection along with his son, Logan. Two of the male pups stood out with their intensity on the wing. However, we really liked the friendliness of the one shown here with whitetail1. So...Rock it is.
