Way back in high school, a buddy tore his knee up. Was in a cast about all hunting season. He got out there on crutches. Where there's a will there's a way.

I'm not sure about this, but can you get a handicap permit to hunt from a 4 wheeler? I know it would be easy to shoot one, but recovery would be very hard. You would have to have someone you hunt with or be able to call. I would try and think of anything I could. Good luck and hope you heal fast... God Bless

Dave - best of luck to you. Between my sister and me we have had 8 surgeries arthroscopic and major, and you'll be having major on the ACL. Get in as soon as you can and follow your rehab, maybe a ground blind is in your future for gun season. Seriously follow rehab to the T and do more if you can and you will recover and your knee will be stronger then before. Best of luck! dbd870-he will have 3 or 4 arthroscopic holes and a 3"-4" cut and about a year to be 100%, it sucks but I promise if you follow rehab you will be fine! Are they talking arthroscopic?

I have a buddy that tore is ACL about a year ago. They had him wait a few months (3 or 4?) before surgery. The Dr. said it heals faster after surgery if you wait for the swelling to go down before surgery. Good luck - use the knee brace getting in and out of the blind.
